John Timothy VanOrsdale was NEVER married to Kate Rickerson, as your site states. He had only one living son (my paternal grandfather), Alan Augustus VanOrsdale, who was born in 1891 and died in 1935. Alan’s wife, my paternal grandmother, Edith Christine Anne’ VanOrsdale died in 1987
Kate Rickerson was married to John Timothy’s brother’s son John (middle name Cornelius, I believe.) I knew “Aunt Kate” and can testify to her never being married to my great-grandfather..
