By industry and economy he acquired a fair competence and was highly esteemed by all who knew him for his sterling integrity. He leaves a wife and six children. He was brother to C.C. Laidlaw of Gouverneur and John W. Laidlaw of Pitcairn. The family have the deepest sympathy of all who enjoyed their acquaintance. Peace to his ashes."2
